4. Why we process personal data
Personal data may be processed to:
- process purchases and renewals;
- issue and manage LangSpector Pro licenses;
- validate authorized installations;
- provide protected software updates;

5. Legal bases for processing
Depending on the activity, personal data may be processed on one or more of the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract
Processing is necessary to process a purchase, provide a license, manage activations, deliver updates or provide services associated with LangSpector Pro.
Steps requested before entering into a contract
This may apply when you contact LangSpector Support with a pre-sales question before purchasing.
Legal obligations
Certain transaction, billing or accounting information may need to be retained to comply with applicable legal obligations.
Legitimate interests
Where appropriate, information may be processed for reasonable interests such as service security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and the protection of the licensing infrastructure.
Consent
Where applicable law requires consent for a specific processing activity, that processing will rely on consent and the consent may be withdrawn subject to applicable law.
6. Payments and Stripe
LangSpector uses Stripe to process online payments.
When you make a purchase, information necessary to process the transaction is transmitted to Stripe.
This may include personal and billing information as well as technical information required for payment processing, fraud prevention and transaction security.
LangSpector does not store your complete payment-card number or card security code in its own license database.

LangSpector uses Mailjet to send transactional messages.
These messages may include:
- license delivery information;
- purchase-related notifications;
- support ticket confirmations;
- support replies;

Information such as your email address and message delivery data may therefore be processed through Mailjet for these purposes.

Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information in a support ticket.
9. Data processed by the LangSpector plugin
LangSpector performs its multilingual content audit locally within your WordPress installation.
Website content being audited does not need to be transmitted to an external language-analysis service.
LangSpector Pro communicates with the LangSpector licensing infrastructure only for operations such as license validation, activation management and protected software updates.
For a more detailed explanation, see Privacy & Security.

12. How long we keep personal data
Personal data is not intended to be retained longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

The LangSpector licensing and support systems use measures intended to limit unnecessary exposure of sensitive credentials and access information.
However, no online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
