GETTING STARTED
From installation to your first LangSpector audit.
Install LangSpector, check your setup and run your first multilingual quality audit directly from WordPress.
BEFORE YOU START
Check the basic requirements.
LangSpector is designed specifically for multilingual WordPress websites using Polylang.
- WordPress 6.5 or later
- PHP 7.4 or later
- Polylang installed and active
- Administrator access to your WordPress dashboard
STEP 1 · INSTALL LANGSPECTOR FREE
Free provides the core LangSpector engine.
Install from WordPress
If LangSpector Free is available from the WordPress plugin directory, go to:
Plugins → Add New Plugin
Search for LangSpector, install it and activate it.
Install a downloaded ZIP
If you received the plugin as a ZIP file, go to:
Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin
Select the LangSpector Free ZIP file, click Install Now, then activate the plugin.
You do not need FTP access.
STEP 2 · OPEN LANGSPECTOR
Find LangSpector in your WordPress administration.
After activation, LangSpector adds its own administration section to WordPress.
Open the LangSpector dashboard to review the current audit status and start a scan.
The plugin does not modify your multilingual content during this process.
Before your first scan
- Make sure Polylang is active
- Check that your site languages are correctly configured
- Keep your existing translations and relationships unchanged
- Allow LangSpector to inspect the site as it currently exists
STEP 3 · RUN YOUR FIRST SCAN
Let LangSpector build the report.

Start the scan
Launch a new audit from the LangSpector dashboard.

Let the batches run
LangSpector processes eligible content progressively rather than trying to analyse the entire site in one request.

Open the report
Once results are available, review the findings detected across your multilingual content.

Review before changing
Check the context of each finding before deciding whether a correction is necessary.
UNDERSTANDING THE REPORT
Use severity as a guide, not as an automatic verdict.
Critical
Strong structural multilingual inconsistencies.
Important
Significant findings that deserve attention.
Warning
Potential issues that should be checked.
Review
Pro findings where human verification is preferable.
The detailed finding is more important than the severity label alone. Always inspect the affected content before making a change.
INTENTIONAL FINDINGS
Not every unusual configuration needs correcting.
If you verify a finding and decide that the current configuration is intentional, you can ignore it.
Ignored findings are excluded from active reporting and can be reactivated later if you want to review them again.
Ignoring a finding does not change the underlying WordPress content.
OPTIONAL · INSTALL LANGSPECTOR PRO
Keep Free installed when adding Pro.
LangSpector Pro extends the Free plugin. It does not replace it, so both plugins must remain installed and active.

Download Pro
Use the download information sent after your purchase.

Upload the ZIP
Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.

Activate Pro
Activate LangSpector Pro while keeping LangSpector Free active.

Activate your license
Open LangSpector → Pro License and enter your license key.
PRO LICENSE
Activate Pro from inside WordPress.
Enter the license key sent after purchase in the Pro License screen.
Once the license is verified, the additional Pro audit features become available.
You can use Check now whenever you want to refresh the current license status manually.
If activation fails
- Check that the complete license key was entered correctly
- Make sure LangSpector Free is active
- Verify that the website can make outgoing HTTPS requests
- Use Check now after correcting the problem
MOVING OR REPLACING A SITE
Manage your Pro activation slots.
If you replace a website or no longer use LangSpector Pro on an old installation, open My installations to review the sites associated with your license.
An old installation can be deactivated remotely to free its activation slot.
For security, the full license key is required before the installation list can be managed.
